Mobile marketing is an amazing marketing tool that can truly be utilized by anyone in any given industry.
Just about any kind of business can implement texting into their marketing strategies in order to yield unbeatable results.
Retail stores, pizza restaurants, bars, salons, fitness, restaurants, and even churches can all use Mobile marketing in their own unique ways in order to generate the kind of buzz they are looking for in the long run.
Here are a few ways that specific business can use Mobile marketing to its fullest potential.
The biggest thing that retail stores utilize Mobile marketing for is to alert their clientele about promotions and sales.
Not only can you use text messages to alert people about sales and promotions, but you can even take it one step further and use our mobile coupons feature in order to virtualize special offers and deals.
Mobile Marketing is a tool that can be utilized by any and all retail stores in order to not only acquire new customers, but to retain customers who come in on a regular basis as well.
Reminding your customers that your store exists is something that any business owner can do through text messaging easily and effectively.
Whether it be a text about a sale or even about the weather, sending a text to your clients will get them through your door more effectively than any other advertising tactic.
The best thing that restaurants can use text messages for is to notify their customers of specials they are running on a daily basis.
We have previously discussed the reality that text messages reach audiences at a far higher rate than e-mails or social media posts do.
The thing to focus on in terms of Mobile Marketing for restaurants is that it serves as a true and pure compliment to any other marketing attempts made by any establishments.
A great way to use Mobile Marketing for restaurants is also to set up a loyalty program for customers.
As we have explained before, loyalty programs provide customers with the incentive they need in order to become returning clients.
Simply put, text messages will remind them to keep coming back for more which will then, in turn, put more money in any business’s pocket.
Mobile marketing can increase foot traffic on slow days for any place of business including businesses within the food-service industry.
Bars and Nightclubs
Similarly to restaurants, bars and nightclubs require the same caliber of Mobile Marketing in order to convert one-time customers into long-time customers.
One of the biggest advantages that texting has to offer for bars and nightclubs is the idea that one can remind their customers to keep returning to their place of business.
On top of that, through Mobile Marketing business owners can blast out mobile coupons and alerts of specials going on at the time.
In this case, a bar or nightclub can send out a mobile coupon and text notifying their customers of specific events and specials like, for example, a ladies night, DJ party, or anything else for that matter.
Another great tool that bars and nightclubs can utilize in order to gain more business is our text to win feature.
Giving customers incentive to come back, whether it be big or small, will always prove to be successful in the long run.
In terms of religion, there are many entities that can utilize Mobile Marketing to its fullest potential.
Houses of worship such as churches or synagogues can use texting in order to connect with their members and inform them on what is going on within their religious communities.
Not only can houses of worship update their members on weekly news, but they can also connect with their members on a more personal level and inspire accordingly.
Churches can send out reminders about many things including sermons, Bible studies, daily Bible verses, and even prayer requests. The list really could go on and on.
On top of that, Multi-Media Messaging allows houses of worship to send more inspirational content to their members through a faster medium.
Churches can film their mass and sermons and then blast them out to all of their members so that even the people who didn't attend can get inspired.
Overall, religious organizations can really benefit from texting and Multi-Media marketing as long as they use it to its fullest potential.
Doctors and Physicians
Appointment Reminders is a great tool that can be utilized through texting for any kind of doctor or physician in order to efficiently keep track of their patients.
Doctors, dentists, therapists, and many more places of business that function through appointments can keep track of their patients efficiently through our appointment reminder tool.
The best part about using SMS in order to get in touch with patients is that the reach is beyond compare in terms of email.
On top of that, sending an automated text message saves a lot of time when compared to having a secretary or assistant make a phone call in order to confirm appointments with each and every patient.
One of the best ways to get customers to come back to your place of business again and again is to create and run an text message powered loyalty program.
To take that concept a step further, we have created an amazing and more convenient way to opt in new and loyal customers so you can keep them as regular clients: our Kiosk Builder.
Through our kiosk builder tool, you can set up an entire program right from your own tablet and establish a much higher level of loyalty between you and your customers through Opt-Ins.
Salons can utilize this by collecting as many opt ins as they can and then blasting out specials and coupons to get more foot traffic.
They can even create a loyalty program through the kiosk as well.
There really is an endless amount of potential when it comes to Mobile Marketing with salons.
One of the most important concepts in the world of business is customer acquisition and loyalty.
Without customers, there aren't any sales which means that there’s no profit.
Without profit, any and all businesses will go down in flames without question.
Any business owner can practice different methods in order to gain new customers.
Things like email marketing, printed advertisements, and social media ads are all available to any business; the possibilities are really endless. The thing is, retaining customers is just as important as customer acquisition, if not even more so.
Every business needs new customers, but if those customers don't keep coming back there’s no way of guaranteeing true success in the long run. One of the best ways to better customer retention rates is with an text powered loyalty program.
Here are 5 reasons why an mobile customer loyalty program will grow any business.
1. Customer Appreciation
Showing your customers that you care about them will always prove to be effective when it comes to customer retention. According to many studies, loyalty programs have been proven to increase customer retention rates by 40% or more.
That is because loyalty programs entice customers to visit a place of business more frequently while also encouraging them to spend more each time they come in.
2. Wipe Out The Competition
One of the biggest threats in the realm of business is your competition. Businesses need to try and put themselves ahead of the competition in more ways than one in order to remain successful. One of the easiest ways to beat the competition is with a mobile loyalty program.
Think about it: wouldn't you be more inclined to return to a business that promised you rewards for being a loyal customer over a business that didn’t?
3. Everybody Loves A Huge Sale
An important aspect of loyalty programs that one needs to focus on in order to grow any business is the rewards being offered when the end goal is reached. A loyalty program enables you to offer your customers amazing mobile coupons and deals which they will respond to in a positive way. The catch is that they need to spend money in order to earn that reward they so desperately want. That is why as loyalty program works in the business’s favor.
4. Loyalty Programs Are Fun
The biggest upside to running mobile loyalty programs and loyalty campaigns in any business is that it encourages customers to come back in a fun and interactive way. Simply handing a customer a coupon or having a store-wide sale is exciting, but what’s even more exciting is the build up of when a customer has to earn that reward for themselves. Not only does a loyalty program entice customers to come in and earn points so they can win their prize, but it also enables them to feel like a VIP customer which will get them to come in more often as well.
5. It’s Simple
In the past, loyalty programs consisted of punch cards that people tend to lose more often than not.
The fact of the matter is that text powered loyalty programs conveniently mobilize the way rewards programs work. This makes it all the more easy for both customers and business owners alike.
Because this tool has been mobilized, this ensures that all punch cards will never be lost again because it will always be on hand within the customer’s phone.

One of the most common text message marketing questions we get at ubookoo is how many text messages should I be sending my customers? While we’ve always assumed at ubookoo that 1-2 text messages per week is the optimal amount of text messages to send customers, we now can back up this assumption with some consumer insight data from BlueHornet’s 2014 Consumer Views of Email Marketing Report.
For the third consecutive year, BlueHornet surveyed over 1,000 consumers across the United States to better understand their behavior and sentiments about not only email marketing, but text message marketing. The questionnaire for this survey was developed by BlueHornet with assistance from Flagship Research. The survey was administered by Flagship to a national panel of 1,308 consumers between the ages of 18 and 75 distributed evenly between women and men across East, Midwest and Western regions of the United States; 64.5% of whom are employed and 72.3% with a household income over $35,000.
So back to the question of how many text messages should businesses be sending their customers? According to the survey, 89.3% of consumers think that 1-2 text messages per week from a business is the right number of text messages that would keep them engaged with the brand, in addition to keeping them opted-in to the brand’s text messaging campaign. The results from the survey are below.
How do you connect with Generation Mobile with your photography business? Do you use word of mouth effectively. Can you bring your website with you when meeting with clients or do they find you on the web. How do you create a social media presence that can be quickly accessed by your very important clients? If you are wondering how to put together a new way to reach clients that improves response over email, did you know the open rate on text marketing exceeds 92%?
First start with your own company Promobile app. If you want to test drive a real company mobile app text promobile to 40691. You will also see the App panel which displays quick access to all the social media buttons as well as phone and email. Text message coupons are one of the easiest and most effective ways to begin a mobile couponing campaign, and here are five good reasons why:
1. Text messaging allows offers to be created instantly.
One of text message marketing’s most powerful advantages is not only the tremendous read rate (over 95%) but the read rate within 15 minutes of sending (over 90%). This characteristic of SMS gives Photographers, photo retailers, and anyone who needs to reach an audience quickly, the ability to create and distribute offers in literally minutes. Let’s suppose you own a Photography business and you have an outdoor engagement shoot or sports picture day scheduled. You get the news really bad weather is in the forcast for that day! To avoid a bad experience and low partisapation you could easily send out a “lets re-schudule” notifaction and a coupon to offer an incentive – “Stay inside and keep warm tonight. Let’s reschdule for (Date) and I’ll throw in a free 5X7 print with your order!” Unlike traditional coupons, which need to be planned well in advance, SMS-based offers can be created at any time and fit very specific, time-sensitive, marketing needs.
2. Text message coupons can drive new customer traffic from traditional media.
Most traditional media looks like this to consumers – “We have a great new product/service and we hope you’ll think about us when you’re ready to book your event / photoshoot. Visit our mobile app by texting (SMS keyword) To (SMS Short code) for more information.” Brand recognition is important but capturing a customer’s interest is even more valuable. Imagine this – “We have a great new product/service. If you text-in now we will give you a coupon for 20% off.” Then, a week later when the customer may have forgotten your product, you can send them a text message reminder – “Don’t forget your 20% off coupon is expiring in a few days.”
3. SMS coupons are easy and cost-effective to launch.
In the past distributing coupons meant placing ads or running costly direct mail campaigns. Email costs less than direct mail but still takes a significant amount of time to create and manage (not to mention most emails are never opened). Using text messaging a coupon can be delivered to a database of mobile subscribers for pennies per subscriber. And not only is it cost-effective to send the coupon but existing on-site signage and traditional media can be used to build the list. Instead of using media for just brand recognition these marketing efforts can now deliver new subscribers and grow a valuable sales-generating database.
4. Mobile coupons are a great loyalty program.
By using on-site signage and collateral you will capture current customers at a time when they are most interested in your business. Repeat visit coupons can be a great incentive for your customers to join a text messaging campaign – “We hope you enjoyed your photoshoot with us today. Join our mobile club and get 20% off the next time you book a shoot.” Ongoing messages will drive sales, increase loyalty, and make sure your products/services are top-of-mind with your audience.
5. SMS coupon redemption rates beat everything else.
Perhaps the most critical measurement of a coupon is its redemption rate. If the coupon is never redeemed by a customer it hasn’t increased revenue. Because text messages receive the highest read rate of any form of direct marketing today, coupons delivered via SMS are more frequently redeemed. Not only is your customer more aware of the coupon it’s much harder for them to leave the coupon at home, and go to your competition instead, when it’s saved inside their phone.
One of the many strong suits of the ubookoo Photographers marketing platform is that you can start sending SMS coupons right away and grow your client list quickly. Learn more www.ubookoo.com

1) Are You Reaching Your Goal? Determine what your goal is when a prospect or customer brings up your website on their mobile device? For example… “I would like the user to make an appointment for a consultation”
Responsive Sites: With this sample goal, can a customer make an appointment easily on the main page without scrolling? Or does the user have to search and find the page to contact you for an appointment? Whatever you primary goal is, do not make it hard for prospects.
Mobile Apps: Use a one-touch feature that allows the user to easily book an appointment directly. Making it easier for a prospect to contact you can often keep them from going to your competitors. We highly recommend that you do not make prospects and customers fill out a traditional email form. Today’s consumer is typically confused of when you will return their email, which motivates them to search other opportunities while their waiting for you. Whatever you primary goal is, do not make it hard for prospects.
2) Size Matters: For years we have presented our company on a 19” – 21” screen. Our website was our destination and we had plenty of room to show off our services. Not any longer. We now have to squeeze our company content into 20% of the space. That can be a challenge.
Responsive Websites Arranges Your Site Poorly: Check your website on a mobile phone and view how it collapses to the small size. In most cases, responsive websites downsize poorly and do not feature your most critical company content on the main page. One very critical issue to branding are those responsive websites not show the company logo!
Mobile Apps Can Be Customized: Your Company content SHOULD look different on a mobile device. With a Company Mobile App you have the ability to manage your site completely different for a mobile device. You can customize your mobile version 100%. Consumers will see your company content in a prioritized format on their mobile device… and that matters
3) One-Touch – It’s preferred. Today’s consumer loves shortcuts. Their phone is loaded with apps and they prefer navigating their phones with one-touch. Let's look at some examples.
Responsive Websites Limit One-Touch Buttons: Responsive Websites simply convert your contact information the same way it works on your website. For instance, your contact process requires a mobile user to “look up” your number or fill out a form. Asking a mobile user to enter your company phone number is almost always ignored. Customers should be able to contact you with a one-touch icon. The same should be for texting or emailing you.
Mobile Apps One Touch Buttons Make It Easy: A Mobile App allows you assign a quick button to anything. Consumers can contact you with one touch and not have to search and memorize you phone number. Not only can you assign a button to contact you, users can be easily directed to your blog, hosted galleries or any other category you desire. These are often called "Call To Action" features for a reason.
4) Scroll, Less Pages: Mobile users will spend very little time on your website. They do not want to go through multiple pages on their mobile phone. Mobile users are must likely on the move and want to take care of their tasks quickly. Consumers prefer to scroll through a website and not have to search multiple pages.
Responsive Websites Love Pages: One of the most unfriendly features a responsive site does is stack your mobile version with multiple pages. This aggravates mobile users and makes it easy for them to leave your site.
Mobile Apps Scroll: A Mobile App allows you customize and sort your pages to fit the needs of your company. Users will be able to see the most important content you offer on the main page and this makes the user experience positive.
5) Having Trouble Being Found? Text Keywords...The New URL: Are you having problems being found on the internet? Does it just take too much time to try to stay ahead of your competition? Have you basically given up? Text Keywords is the hottest tool to deliver your Mobile App to prospects.
Responsive Websites Do Not Live Outside The Internet: Responsive Websites work much like traditional websites. Users trying to locate a business goes online to hopefully find your company within 100’s of competitors. Same old story. If you are found, it’s frustrating that prospects can shop your products and services easily.
Mobile Apps Are Delivered to Mobile Users without the Internet: Text Keywords and short codes are magic! First… Claim a unique Keyword for your company. Prospects and Customers simply text your keyword and your mobile app is delivered to their phone. This keeps your company in the sites of your prospects without comparing to your competition. Having a Company Keyword is Essential in Today’s MobileNet.
6) The Monies in the List… It’s still true, the money is in the lists. But it’s no longer in your email list. Emails are opened at an 18% rate. There is no doubt that emails are continuously failing us. Text messages are opened at a 94% open rate and within 3 minutes. I’ll be frank. Follow the money! Convert your email list and future prospects to a mobile list now.
Responsive Websites Don’t Text: Websites do not support texting as a communication tool. This can be a disadvantage when most consumers would rather text than email.
Mobile Apps Supports Texting: When a customer uses your keyword, they opt-in to your mobile list and you capture their contact information. This allows you to start using texting as your communication tool.
7) Seize The Moment! One of the biggest frustrations we have is not knowing who is viewing our website and what their needs are. Sometimes we wish we could reach out and contact them while their viewing our site.
Responsive Websites are Traditional: Newer responsive websites don’t offer anything new to help capture a prospect on your website. You rely on your website content to persuade a prospect to contact you.
Mobile Apps on Auto-Pilot: When a prospect texts your keyword, they will automatically receive follow up text messages encouraging them to contact you. You are also notified the instant they have requested your mobile app. For example, prospects can get a text message asking them if they have an event coming up and need a photographer. You can also include mobile coupons to promote a service and increase bookings.
8) Broadcast Your Company As Needed: There is always a need to market and promote your company. There are times when you need a spike in your business. The need to target prospects is probably more important now the ever.
Responsive Website Campaigns Take Time: Using an email campaign program with your website and be time consuming to say the least. When you design an elaborate email campaign, it feels good but usually results in minimal results. Not surprising these days with an 18% open rate.
Mobile App Simple Broadcasts: Pushing out a broadcast or promotion couldn’t be any easier and faster. Simply click on a mobile list and send out a bulk text message. Typical push messages take a few minutes to send. You’ll find yourself sending more messages, resulting in more opportunities to book more appointments and find new clients.
So How Mobile is Your Photography Company? More consumers are locating businesses with their mobile device than using a desktop or laptop. These consumers are considered “mobile” customers. All businesses need to reach mobile users. If your company is not mobilized, you will have to work harder or your business is at risk. Your website is still the billboard of your photography company, but it’s not enough. You can no longer rely on the internet alone.
Introducing MobileNet. Look around, consumers are using their mobile device for everything. Photography companies need to recognize the habits of today’s consumer and have a mobile marketing strategy.
Is Your Company Interactive? A mobile app will make your company interactive. Your company app allows consumers to contact you instantly and you can respond promptly. You are notified immediately when a prospect joins your mobile list and they receive information about your company – all on auto-pilot.
Like Your Website? Want to keep it? You Can! Do you prefer to keep your website the way that it is? Have you spent a lot of time getting it just right? Here’s what we recommend. Keep your website that works just fine on a desktop or laptop. Add a mobile app and customize it for mobile users. When a mobile user brings up your URL with a mobile device, they will see your mobile app. When they use a desktop they will see your traditional site. No reason to spend 100’s to 1000’s of dollars to build a new site! To get started fill out the form below today!!
Pablo Cruise is one of the best remembered bands from the 70s. One of their most popular hits was from 1977, "Whatcha Gonna Do?" If you are like me, you may still own one of their 45s (which if you are not from this era, is the single recorded on vinyl).
The good news is you can still hear the band play live and find them on You Tube which, by the way, is one of the most powerful ways to drive a website on the Internet.
What may be different from the early days is the band's use of technology to reach out to their many fans. Ubookoo is now providing the mobile solution through the use of our Marketing Suite. With the power of text, fans will be notified where and when the band is playing and also if there is a new promotion on their main website www.pablocruise.com . From the main site the Mobile App's link tells fans how to download the app directly to their phone's home screen and from the app all the important links including their upcoming shows, store, videos, social media, and call to action links are easy to find. This is the biggest advantage to having a Mobile App dedicated to your business. It takes the most important features of your website and downsizes the information so that you can easily navigate on a small screen. This is key as we know the numbers of Pablo Cruise fans who are mobile will continue to grow in the future. Thanks to Pablo Cruise. "PABLO CRUISE IS BACK AND ALL THEY CAN SAY IS “IT’S GOOD TO BE LIVE”!

A conversation with Rick Ferro, lead Disney Wedding Photographer about changes in the Wedding Industry as he sees his own experiences as also owner of Rick Ferro Photography.
Ubookoo Q: You’ve been shooting professionally now for 30 plus years. How have brides needs changed from over the years?
Rick A: Brides are younger than ever before, I don’t mean necessarily in age, but in the younger generation need of new technology and how convenient it makes their life on a personal level. For instance, Brides want the ability to not only have quick access to their photos, that’s a given, but to share the entire experience from engagement to honeymoon with their friends and family as it develops, much like a good novel.
Ubookoo Q: That’s Interesting. Would you say brides are more demanding?
Rick A: Demanding? Let’s say they have higher expectations. What I mean by that is that today’s brides expect to get a hold of me at any time, and they expect me to be prompt with a reply. The mobile app I give them makes it easy for me to communicate with my bride and groom. The best part is they love their new bridal app and are happy to share my company!
Ubookoo Q: So you say “Brides love their App” Why?
Rick A: In the case of the Engagement App, it builds the story of how the couple met, their Bridal Registry and details about where and when the Wedding will be held. I can also include a short video of the proposal and Engagement photos. After friends and family download the app with a keyword, “Auntie” in another state can purchase directly from her mobile phone. The app also has my photography business information and ability to call, email or text me with a push of a button!
Ubookoo Q: You mentioned a keyword and short code. How do you use the keyword with your brides?
Rick A: It’s super easy. I assign a unique keyword to my bride. The keyword gives the Bride the ability to have their friends and family text a specific word or combination of words to a short number or code to download their app quickly. Much like radio stations use for contests.
Ubookoo Q: Sounds like it’s expensive. What are your costs?
Rick A: No, not at all! That’s the best part, I give the Bride & Groom their own Engagement/Wedding app free. They share it with friends and family and in doing so it builds a rather large lead list automatically, that I can later promote my Photography services too. As for what it costs me, it’s a minimal business expense – small monthly membership fee. Best of all, it gets the business over my competition. But not only the Wedding shoot, the Engagement shoot as well. I double my bookings.
Ubookoo Q: So Wedding Apps are important to your business?
Rick A: Not only are mobile apps important to my business, they are the easiest and best way to market my photography business. My gosh, my wedding party markets my company for me! It doesn’t get any better than that.
Ubookoo Q: Any last comments Rick?
Rick A: If you’re a serious Wedding Photographer and want an easy way to gain new business and impress your clients, this app by ubookoo works! I highly recommend it and your brides will love you for it.
Ubookoo Q: Thank you Rick for your time!
Rick A: My pleasure.
